Oh my .... So much to write about!
The OBE show last year was very nice! It was a really good exercise for me to see what goes in to putting a show together. The Waterloo Watercolor Group VP asked two of us to chair our 2014 show this coming October when she found out we both volunteered at OBE.
The Library show, in Georgetown TX, was wonderful. It is a beautiful library the gallery of beautiful art was lovely! This is the show that will be hung at the OBE in October 2014! I will help hang it but first I have to replace one of my paintings from the first show as it sold at Christmas time. WHat a wonderful present to me! I have it already to go and will finish it in July.
The Spring Member Show was hung at the Corridor of the Arts in Downtown Austin. I had a wonderful portrait of my grandson in the show. This last week, He and his Dad and sister came down to see it before we struke the show. He was so very excited - many pictures, many memories.....
In July, I am proud to say I will be hanging a painting of my oldest granddaughter. This painting actually won a ribbon, I just don't know which one. It really doesn't matter, because it is the first ribbon I have won for watercolor! I am honored and humbled. Unfortunately my granddaughter wiill not be able to attend the ribbon ceremony, but I will make sure she gets to see herself hanging in the show before we strike this one.
I had to take to some time away from all the fun to recover from pneumonia that had me visitng the hospital for 3 weeks. However, while I recuperated, I did little tiny trading card paintings. I fell in love with the idea. I needed to have something in my life that I could actually "control". Little tiny paintings do that very well! If anyone would like some prints of my darling little cards as stationary, I have them for sale at the Old Bakery and Emporium Right in Austin. I'm still in love with the little guys and do them when I can. Please check out my sheets of paintings below.
Yep, some are little originals of some of my paintings... some are just right out of my head...
