Christmas is right around the corner.  I'm going to have some family fun for a few weeks,  but I'm still thinking about the shows for 2013.  The first is in February!
I'm also getting ready to post pictures of several pieces. I have found that I get caught up with a theme and creating a whole group of pieces in each theme.  Living in Texas, I have cattle, boots and Texas landscapes.  Living in Austin, I also have Chickens! Themes are fun in that you're already in the mindset for what you will create.  I will be posting these themed pieces very soon.

I am happy to announce:

5 pieces accepted for the "Texas" show at the Old Bakery Emporium

 in Austin for November 2012

The show will bring TEXAS art through the geography, the history or  the Texas culture visually to the patrons through the artist's eyes. Get the real Texas flavor!

Gallery Show:      November 9,  through December 6.
Artist Reception:   Thursday, November 15,  from 6-8 pm.

Yes, that is the same week as the Formula Race and events!
So please stop by and take a look.

It's September…. and the start of Fall and with that comes many shows.
So many paintings, so many shows!…
All?  None?  Some?  Chickens?  Cows?  Corners or edibles?  Well I'm working on that dilemma.
Meanwhile, "Austin Cow" grew up … She is rather  "Austin-Tacious" now!

Notice the littlel smirk she has…. ?   I really think this cutie (22 X 30 watercolor) is very special.
She would be perfect in a child's special place.  Sort of a best friend watching, listening, and being a best friend.

Back to work!

Well, the show is over and a new show is now up and looking great!  If you have time and are in Austin for the next 4 weeks - stop by and see very exciting art.
Bill Oakley and  Debbie Smith Rourke have their "Side by Side Art' and Kay Hughes has "Encaustics"

I'm taking a workshop next week with Sue Kemp, and I am really looking forward to it.  I need to take the next step in my art education, having only been in watercolor for a little over 2 years.  In those two years I have needed control of at least one thing in my life.  It ended up being my brush!  So, most of my work has been "realistic".  I am now finding that I need something more and I'm ready become more "stylized" - looser with my brush and free in my colors.  It's time for a little more fun.  This could become a train wreck or a really great breakthrough……

I traveled to Johnson City and had a wonderful discussion with Warren from Taste Wine + Art - Kirchman Gallery.  He is an amazing gentleman and hope to some day meet his wife who is the final word in this gallery.  If you have a chance to get over there - stop in and you will understand.    The gallery has a wonderful representation of contemporary art.  While you are there, you can also taste wines from around the world and right here in Texas.   They also have a Western Gallery too. Please stop by.

The Reception last night was great!  I met wonderful people and saw terrific art! What else could I ask for?…. Anyone like what they saw?
I do enjoy the energy around creative people!

I have been going through all my (art) books lately. I like doing that from time to time, especially when I'm ready for a new style to take place.  I just get something cool to drink, settle in my little corner of the world and discover!   Rejuvenated!  I get back to the fun part of my life.

I am in a show for the month of July at the Old Bakery and Emporium in Austin, Tx.  I am excited as this is my first show since moving here from Arizona.  Hope everyone enjoys my work!
